The Real Estate Blog

It's hard to come to the realization that summer is over!  The days are still hot, yet schedules are back in full speed.  No more beach days, or day trips for now.  However, it does mean that the mountains are the place to be in the upcoming months!!

Living in York County is the best of both worlds. You are only about 3 hours from the beach, and only 2 hours from the mountains.  You can get to Asheville or the Boone/Blowing Rock area fast enough to make it a day trip, if needed, or a great weekend trip, and if you time it right, you'll see some of the most beautiful colors in the fall leaves.  This past weekend, Labor Day weekend, was the beginning of the apple season in the NC mountains, with the NC Apple Festival kick off in Hendersonville. That is always a fun festival to visit, if you're ever able to.  We go every year. You have to buy apples when you go-- I made apple jelly out of mine last weekend.

I am a beach bum! I will go to the beach every chance I get during the summer. But it's nice to finally see some of the cooler mornings starting, and know that it's time to start enjoying some mountain trips as well.
