Right now, in the state of SC, there is a loan program from the SC Housing Authority that focuses on helping our local heroes-- firefighters, EMS workers, police, and teachers!  This program loans up to $7000 in downpayment assistance (some forgiveable, some repayable) to these heroes.  The program also offers an excellent rate on 30 year fixed loan, currently locking in at 5.125%.  This is an excellent program that will only be around until the funding is exhausted, so if you qualify, or know someone who does, it's worth looking into.  I can help you check your qualifications; just send me a quick email or phone call, and let's get started.
