Wanted to share this information about this event coming up on March 5th.  Also, check out the information regarding free conservation kits...

The Household Hazardous Materials Collection Event will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 8:00 am – 12 noon at the York County Public Works Facility in York at 220 Public Works Road in York. This is a great time to clean out your garage, storage building and under your kitchen sink of things you know you shouldn’t throw in the garbage can.

Participants can also receive a free Conservation Kit, which were funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy. The kits include a free recycling bin, recycling guidebook, 2 compact fluorescent light bulbs, light switch and outlet insulators and adhesive weatherstripping. Supplies are limited. First come. First served. One kit per household.

Conservation kits will also be given away at the 16 County Collection & Recycling Centers the week of March 7.

March 5 will also kick-off the York County Great American Cleanup ! You can receive free supplies for your group to do a litter or beautification event in your neighborhood.
