This year, I volunteered to chair our silent auction committee for our Allen Tate FUNDay, a fundraising day for public education. It's an awesome day of fun activities, where Allen Tate agents come to eat, drink, socialize, and raise money for public education. In the last 12 years, this day has raised over $1 million! 

It has amazed me the generosity of the local companies in Rock Hill.  Very few places that we've contacted asking for a donation have turned us down, and I'm amazed. In a time when our economy is not at its best, this just shows me that we all realize how much help our schools need, with their funds being cut drastically.  I plan to blog later with all companies who have donated, in a little effort to pay them back for their help.  We've been told that we've taken this auction to another level, by getting so many great donations.  But our community is to thank for that! What a great place to live, where everyone supports one another whenever possible. :)
