Want an end of the year idea for a tax credit? How about doing something to improve the energy efficiency of your home, which will lead to lower energy bills, and also taking advantage of a tax credit of up to $1500?

The credit is spelled out in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  According to the IRS website, this credit applies to improvements such as adding insulation, new exterior windows (that are energy efficient), energy efficient heating and air systems, water heaters, and roofs.

If you've made any of these improvements this year, you may want to talk to your accountant about whether or  not you qualify for this credit, and if so, for how much?

Have any questions that I can help answer? Want to know how much replacing some of these items will affect your home's value?  Email me and let me know!
